Give Nature a (Green) Hand!

Over the past week, we’ve been meeting lots of like-minded individuals and its reignited the fire in our bellies.
Yesterday, Yo wrote to 12 national nature-based organisations to ask them to imagine all their members showing a ‘green hand’ to each other (and to the world) on 20th March and 23rd September 2023
The #Defend Nature campaign successfully raised people’s awareness of changes to the Retained EU Law Bill which threatens to wipe away thousands of crucial laws that protect wildlife by the end of the year … but biodiversity is declining at an alarming rate. So what’s next? How can organisations involved in #Defend Nature take it to the next level .. with ‘Give Nature a (Green) Hand’.
Imagine children and adults painting their hand green once or twice a year to show they love nature (whether it be for birds, butterflies, bats or biodiversity) – they are doing their bit. Everyone could get involved: no matter what age.
Imagine if all the national nature-based organisations focused their campaigns on ‘what people can do to help nature’ two days a year which uses a shared image that aligns with their individual organisations’ green values and gets a clear message across to everybody: raising a green hand!
Red Nose Day and BBC’s Children in Need have national coverage. Give Nature a (Green) Hand! could do too.
Its time to raise a (green) hand .. using child-safe, environmentally hand paints of course 🙂
If you agree .. please share
